The Plot Progresses...
The following is your first plot prompt. While you write your character's intro you should also be working them into this plot. You may do so how ever you please, but by the end of your intro post your character(s) should be located on scene.
It's been five days since the first instance of this virus in Tampa, Florida. It's safe to say things haven't really calmed down. It's been noted that all persons attacked by the man at TPA have all died... America is in a panic and the media and even the FDA are failing to provide any reason for this violent strain of the flu. There is still no source of origin except for the airport man, and though he and all the people he attacked are now dead the virus has somehow still spread. Investigators are working to find if any of the originals, which is what they're referring to the few at the airport who were effected as, attacked anyone else before dying. Nothing has been confirmed, but based on it's rapidly spreading conditions, especially in Florida, they must have.
The FDA put out an alert for the state of Florida, and only the state of Florida. They're offering Florida's residents a chance to try the vaccination they're working on. It's first come first serve and no charge to try. So far it's not been proven to work, but it's also not been proven to not work... Anyone who is willing to travel to Sarasota hospital to get a vaccination are welcome. They will only serve several hundred Florida residents. The vaccination is being called a "safe bet" and people are saying you'd be silly not to try and get it. It's the only logical thing to do...
Your character should make their way to Sarasota to try this vaccination, even if they're not truly interested in it.
Once your character arrives at the hospital they should notice a few things.
Upon entering Sarasota, which is close to Tampa, your character may notice that there are many people wearing face masks. Life seems to be carrying on as normal, however there are more people wearing these masks than not.
As your character approaches Sarasota Hospital, they are very likely to notice army men with guns. They are standing around the outside of, and nearby the hospital.
Once inside the hospital your character will notice there are hundreds of people in a panic to receive this vaccination, however it does not appear that anyone is actually being served... The men with guns are stalking the crowd, watching everyone become more and more angry. There are people mostly standing, however some who are sitting around the edges of the room appear sickly. The men with guns are obviously keeping a close eye on those people in particular.
A handy map in case you're unfamiliar with Florida.
Happy writing and good luck!

The sound of eggs and bacon frying on the stove was interrupted by a loud and brash sound emitting from Ken's cell phone. Tossing the spatula onto the counter Ken dashed around his kitchen island and reached for his phone that was laying on the breakfast bar. In a hurried motion Ken imprinted his thumb and swiped up. White words against a black screen scrolled into view.
This is not a test. This is a state wide alert from the FDA. Florida residents are asked to come to the Sarasota Memorial Hospital to receive a vaccination for the aggressive virus that's been spreading. This vaccination will be offered to the first 800 Florida residents to arrive, and it is highly recommended if you are able to get there. The vaccination will be offered from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Protect yourself. End of message.
"Shit..." He breathed, gnawing at his bottom lip. He's been paying close attention to the news about this virus going around. Hell, his tour to the West Coast was cancelled because of it! Kenneth wasn't a hypochondriac or anything, but he's definitely been taking extra precautions to stay healthy. The stories about people freaking out and attacking others randomly and unprovoked was scary. It sounded like something out of a movie; Made him think about the guy that ate that homeless man's face off the other year on the highway only a few minutes from the college. He knew he didn't want to catch whatever it was, especially since it seemed like there was nothing you could do to stop yourself from loosing control.
BEEP- BEEP- BEEP- BEEP- BEEP- BEEP-
The fire alarm went off. Kenneth practically jumped out of his own skin at it's sound. Well he was definitely awake now... With nicotine deprived hands trembling he pulled over a stool and yanked the damned alarm off the wall, tossing it across the room onto the couch. He ran back to the stove where eggs where black and bacon was practically ash. Wonderful. Ken turned the stove off and lit a cigarette. Way to start the morning.
As he leaned against the island puffing at the white stick, smoke rising from his lips, his phone went off yet again.
"For fucks sake." He groaned. It was his sister, Kimberly. She had sent him a text message.
Come get me, lets go get that stupid shot. I don't feel like eating anyone's face off ok?
He couldn't help but to chuckle. She was thinking the exact same thing about that guy on bath salts. However, this wasn't bath salts. If only it were... It wasn't a bad idea, just a hell of a drive. Especially since he'd have to go pick her up in Fort Lauderdale first. That within itself was a 2 hour detour! Ken looked at the time, it was only 7:00am. If he left now they could probably make it to Sarasota by 12:30. He may as well make it a family field trip and get his best friend Dexter to join them. Kimberly always enjoyed Dex, even though the reason she enjoyed him was because of his stupidity. Kenneth shot Dexter a text message.
Fuckwad, wake up. Me and Kbeans are headed to Sarasota for that vaccination. We don't want you dying so you should meet us there. See you in a few hours!
Rushing now, Kenneth darted to his room and gathered a few things. He grabbed his skateboard, a portable phone charger, a change of clothes since he assumed they'd be staying at a hotel, some cologne, his skateboard repair kit, and his trusty boot knife- which was really just a throwing knife that happened to fit in this leather strap he picked up from a flea market. On the way out of the house he grabbed a couple granola bars and some bottled water and left for the garage. As Kenneth stood over his trunk something told him to check the front seat of his car to ensure his revolver was where it should be. With everything going on he wanted to make sure he had it.
He pulled out a metal lock box from under the driver's seat and flipped the top open. One pristine .44 Magnum Colt Anaconda with a box of 40 rounds. He hasn't used it in months but he knew it was in great condition. It would do the trick if he had to use it. The cylinders were empty, he never really thought he'd ever plan to use it. But as a precaution Ken loaded all the cylinders and locked the firearm. He carefully put the revolver back into the box and hopped into the car. Plugging his phone into the AUX cord he turned on his favorite play list and shot Kim a text.
On my way, be there soon.

Kimberly was practically dead when her phone went off. With tired eyes she glanced at the emergency message that so rudely woke her.
"I thought the vaccination wasn't ready to be used yet?" She muttered as her eyes adjusted to the rest of the room. It was so early and the sun was already so bright. "And what the fuck is the entire state of Florida supposed to do with only 800 shots?" Kimberly sat up, her eyes rolling into the back of her head. Those bastards knew it was going to be a shit show. Thousands of people were likely to show up for that shot and they were only going to offer it to the first 800 to get there? It was absurd, but she knew if her brother Kenneth could drive they might be able to make it. Truthfully the whole thing made he nervous. It wasn't something she wanted to admit and she the text she send out to Ken was an attempt at sounding lighthearted.
Come get me, lets go get that stupid shot. I don't feel like eating anyone's face off ok?
She got up and waddled her way sheepishly to the kitchen where she began preparing a fruit smoothie. The news had been really upsetting the past week, it was scary to think about a sickness that could make you die- but not before going nuts first! Between their idiotic president, all the recent gun violence, and the government basically having a mental breakdown this scary ass virus was the icing on the cake. America was in the dog house, that was for sure.
Kimberly had just turned 18 and recently moved out on her own. Her brother promised to split the cost with her for the first year and so she took advantage of that. She got a quaint little apartment near the water. It was small but in a nice town and a really nice neighborhood. The only down side is she was two hours away from her big brother and that made her nervous to start. Then all this shit started happening? She wanted to move back home. She'd never admit it, but she desperately missed him.
Only a couple minutes went by before Kenneth replied to her text.
On my way, be there soon.
Thank goodness! She thought to herself as she flipped the blender on, the greens and yellows and reds all combining into one delicious cup of joy. She needed some company! The thin teen stepped out onto her ocean-view back porch and sipped on her smoothie. She hadn't made any friends here in Fort Lauderdale. Now that she thought about it she wasn't sure she ever would. She didn't get along with other girls and guys her age only wanted one thing. A monetary wave of depression took over her before she promptly snapped out of it. Her brother was coming! Maybe he would notice how unhappy she was and he'd force her to come back to Miami. Yes, that was the plan now.
Kim skipped back inside and packed a backpack with some items for their over-nighter. Some makeup, a flat iron, two changes of clothes, some heels, some running shoes, that cute black dress she just ordered online. She assumed Dexter would be there, he was her brother's best friend. Older than her, sure, but she was 18 now! Age was only a number right? Definitely that little back dress.
She tossed her bag into her living room and then she showered and did her hair and makeup. Time went by quickly and when her setting spray had dried her big brother had just pulled up. He honked the horn an obscene amount of times until she had grabbed her bag and phone and ran down the stairs of her apartment complex. She hopped into his car and tossed her bag into the back seat.
"No Dexter today?" She asked trying not to sound too disappointed. "Nah he's gonna meet us there. I wasn't going to wait for his ass to wake up." Her brother pulled a cigarette out and lit it. She hated that he smoked so much, it was such a bad habit that she had tried time and time again to break for him. "Oh. You think he's gonna drive all the way to Sarasota alone?" She laughed. "Well he's gonna have to!" He shot a smile her way before blowing a cloud of smoke out the window. "Hm... Well I hope so. Can you believe there's only 800 shots? And they sent that alert out to all of Florida? Seems a bit odd don't you think?" Kimberly raised her legs to the seat and rested her chin on her knees. "Yeah, I think they're asking for a riot." He rolled his eye and turned onto the highway.
The GPS estimated their arrival at 12:19pm, it was 9:15am right now. They had a way to go and Kimberly let her eyes rest as they drove. Just being around Ken calmed her down, cigarette smoke and all.
"What the actual fuck?" Kimberly awoke to her brother's harsh tone. "What? What?" She straightened her body, her hands rushing to her eyes to shield them from the bright Florida sun. "Theres fucking men with guns walking around! What the fuck is this shit?" He raised his voice, a hand reaching down to his pack of cigarettes. Kimberly swatted him away and put the pack in her purse. "Really?" He groaned, his face turning grim. "Yes, really. Stop chain smoking. It's gross." She stuck her tongue out at him before turning her attention to the streets of Sarasota.
Almost everyone walking around had face masks on, but that was the least notable thing. Men with guns were patrolling the street and as they turned the corner onto the Hospital's drive they were everywhere. "Whats going on?" She sounded worried. "This seems a little ridiculous." "I don't know, this is insane though." He said quietly. "There's no fucking parking either. Look at the lot! We're going to have to walk." He was becoming annoyed and Kimberly picked up on it. Ken hated walking, she knew that. "Well maybe if you didn't smoke so much you'd be ok to walk a few blocks." She said, her tone dripping with sass. "Really, Kim?" Ken was not having it. He pulled the car out of the Hospital parking lot and drove down the road until there was an open spot. It was a good 3 blocks away and she could tell by his face he was not stoked to walk 3 blocks to the hospital.
Kimberly got out of the car and before she could grab her purse Ken had already taken it. He tossed it onto the hood of the car and dug around until he pulled out his cigarettes. "Don't take my shit from me." He growled before handing the bag to her. "And I'll be fine, I'll just skate there." "You're going to take your board into the hospital? Really?" She rolled her eyes, totally ignoring his previous comment. "Yeah, why not?"
The two made their way to the hospital. Kim felt extremely uncomfortable as they neared the men with guns. She almost wanted to stop and ask them why they were there, but in the same token she didn't really want the answer. Once they were at the hospital doors, however, the answer became clear. There were hundreds- maybe even a thousand people all gathered in the large lobby. They lined the hall ways and the line even hung out the door. People seemed to be angry, some even seemed to already be sick. It became instantly clear that their adventure to Sarasota for the vaccination was likely a bad idea.
"Ken, I don't like this."

Post by Syn (Anna) on Mar 24, 2018 20:17:48 GMT -5
It was pasted all over the news. “Anyone attacked by man at TPA dead. New virus? Supposedly spreading past airport attack.” Her voice carried disdain as she sat in her penthouse, cigarette smoke twirling from the cancer stick on her lip. Her eyes slowly moved towards the four men that circled her in this room alone; bodyguards. Her father had sent them yesterday, along with assault rifles. If there was anything she wasn’t a fan of, it was being babysat by men waving around guns. They were supposed to be discreet, god damn it. “America will blame Russia for this, North Korea will try and take credit. It’s funny what paranoia does to the masses- and politics.” The man in the suit sitting before her on the other side of the couch was stately- handsome. Dark hair, dark eyes. No stubble- well-tended and groomed. “Your father has decided to send me along with you. Nothing permanent and trust me, I don’t want to be babysitting you on my day off. You know he wants you to check out the vaccine, right?” Amadeus. What a sickeningly pretentious name. Of course he was here to remind her what she had and didn’t have to do, the man was literally a vampire if she’d ever seen one. Pale and egotistical, he had a gaze that made you feel like you were what he wanted for dinner. Leaning back in the chair, Anna let out a small laugh, but the bodyguards surrounding her didn’t flinch. Maybe they really were bona-fide professionals. “Something funny?” The annoyance in his voice told her she was getting under his skin. Good. “Amadeus. I am not parading into the area that is clearly going to be heavily protected with five men with assault rifles. That does not send a good message to anyone and I doubt the cops are going to let you walk in packing that kind of heat, seeing as there’s probably a lot of people who are going to have the same idea walking around with guns in claims of self-defense. There are going to be policemen there, but most likely not with assault rifles. We will stick out and that is not something I am eager to do.” She wondered if he was an idiot. Perhaps he was all muscle, no brains. With the type of men her father hired, she wouldn’t doubt it. He reached over, removing the cigarette from her lip and putting it out on the mahogany of the table. “We’re going to be late to the vaccinations- only eight hundred are getting it and it’s going to begin soon.” She didn’t like him. Not one fucking bit. She was the one in control here, not this buffoon. She did not work this hard just to be topped by some hired fucking gun! Her manicured nails dug into the couch as she strained to smile, leaning in with murder in her eyes. “You do not tell me when to move. I tell you when to move, capiche? My father is paying you to protect me, therefore I am the one who gives the orders here and I say this show of aggression is not to be paraded around near already-panicked masses.” Her voice held hints of venom and as Amadeus shifted uncomfortably she knew she had his understanding on where he belonged. He motioned to one of the bodyguards, who reached into their holster to pull out a pistol, sliding it across the table. Her hand firmly curved around the warmed metal, her index finger tracing around the trigger. Anna knew how to use a gun- she was no master, but she knew how to aim and shoot. It was a part of training for self defense. “If this virus makes people violent, then you should be able to defend yourself in an instance where I am no longer available. My orders are to put your life above my own and while your father said you wouldn’t accept so many bodyguards, he still wanted to try. In the case where you still refused to accept, he said to give you a gun.” The old bastard had some tact still, that was clear. She didn’t doubt the other four might have been told to follow her at a distance, but if she saw even one she’d open fire. If he was stupid enough to get these meatheads to follow she’d simply take care of them herself. “Wait.” She paused momentarily, before looking up at Amadeus. “You’re coming with me?” She thought she had made it clear! “Yes, as per your father’s orders.” “No. I am fine on my own.” “Well, that’s a shame, because your driver has been given the day off and I’m afraid that I’m the most convenient replacement your father could find.” Damn that old man! He’d set all of this up, had he?! No matter. She just had to put up with it for now. The last thing she needed to do was get herself arrested for driving without a license- there’d be nothing worse than sitting there in a cell while waiting for her father to get the bail fee. Standing up from the couch, she reached into her purse and tossed him the keys, which rebounded off of his face and into his lap. As he rubbed the eye he basically got keyed in, Amadeus stood. He may be her babysitter but she wouldn’t make this easy for him. Placing the gun in her purse, she thought it would be best if the crowd couldn’t get ahold of a weapon with killing force. Mass-panic and people with weapons didn’t go well together. It was a rather simple trip to the elevator. Amadeus and Anna were absolutely silent, their indifference the only thing between them. She’d known him for a while now- it wasn’t the first time he’d worked for her father. Anna wondered what on earth the man could gain from sacrificing himself to save her in any situation; money could make humans do some idiotic things. She supposed he had a pistol on him, but she wondered how well-trained with it he was. Although her father hired questionable men, he never shirked when it came to how skilled they were. The elevator dinged. For the most part, there weren’t many cars in the underground parking lot- a result of the panic of the virus. Either they were holed up in their home or they were evacuating to another state where family was waiting with open arms until the virus was controlled and eradicated- these people had the money and resources for it and she doubted they were intent on being mauled. She walked through the parking lot. For the most part she wore running shoes, hating high heels with a passion. Anna was currently sporting semi-formal wear, something you’d expect to see in an office. It seemed like dressing formally was contagious in her business. Amadeus walked past her, unlocking the black jeep, which let Anna know that unlike her driver he was not going to open the door for her. Moving to the front seat, which she didn’t sit in often, she opened the door to the passenger side. Amadeus looked at her as if she was an alien to which she stared back with a steely gaze. “Alright. Sure. You can sit in the front.” “It’s my car.” “I get to choose what’s on the radio.” “I paid for the car.” “I’m driving.” “I should be able to choose what’s on the radio because it’s my car.” “I should be able to choose what’s on the radio because I’m driving.” He retorted. Real mature. He flicked on the radio and went through the stations before settling on country, backing out of the parking spot. Anna’s annoyance was going through the roof- the sound of someone yodeling was not on her top ten music list. She changed the music to classic rock while he was preoccupied, to which she was on the receiving end of a venomous glare. “I’m the one paying you.” “No, your father is the one paying me.” He switched it back to country and Anna swore she was going to lose it. It wasn’t her fault that she was going to lose it, but holy shit was she going to snap! She slammed her palm into the off button on the radio, silence once more the only thing either of them could hear. “Okay. Fine.” He said quietly, the annoyance in his voice clear before he muttered under his breath, “This is why we can’t have nice things.” “Excuse me? Would you like to repeat yourself?” No response. “I’d just like to let you know that I also carry pepper spray in my purse.”

Post by Zac (Dexter) on Mar 24, 2018 23:28:23 GMT -5
Dexter let out a groan tossed and turned in his bed. The sun had just started to peek through the blinds of his window, shining directly into his closed eyes. He quickly grabbed the blanket and pulled it over his head. He knew he should have been out all night drinking. Just as he was about to fall asleep, his phone made this annoying sound. A sound he only heard when there was an extreme storm coming.
"Guess I von't be getting anymore sleep."
Dexter hesitated for a moment before taking the blanket off of his head and reaching over to grab his iPhone from the nightstand. His brown eyes slowly opened as he stared at the now lit screen. Dexter stared at it for a moment, his eyes opening more. Did that say what he thought it said? He put in his pass code to view the message more clearly. His eyes widened before quickly getting out of bed, nearly tripping over the blanket. A state wide alert. That was surely something to get him out of bed for.
Dexter made his way to the white basket of clothing in the corner of his room. He quickly searched through it pulling out a gray T-shirt and black denim jeans. The alert said Sarasota, so that was were he needed to get ASAP. Dexter quickly threw on his clothes, before going towards the door to slip on his black and white vans. He looked around the room for a moment. It would be a good idea to take a few of his belongs with him. Sarasota was about three hours away. He grabbed his phone off his bed to look at the time, almost 7:05 am. If he left now he would be there at around 10:30 am. That was if he didn't hit traffic on the way, which there was a high possibility of since this was a state wide alert.
Just as Dexter was about to put his phone in his pocket, he heard it go off again. Another alert? No, it was just Kenneth. Fuckwad, wake up. Me and Kbeans are headed to Sarasota for that vaccination. We don't want you dying so you should meet us there. See you in a few hours! Dexter didn't bother responding back, he was too much in a rush to do so. He made his way towards his dresser grabbing his car keys and his shades, before making his way towards the door to exit his dorm. He stopped just as he was about to open it. It just may be a good idea to take some things along with him. After driving 3 hours there, he really didn't want to have to drive back.
Dexter took his book bag off of the hook on the back of the door and dumped it out. The books making slight thuds against the carpeted floor. Not like he would need the much right now. He grabbed a few pairs of shirts and jeans, tossing them into the bag. Along with the clothing, he grabbed his gravity knife which was resting on the nightstand, right beside where his phone would be. Dexter never left without it, it was a gift his father had given him just before he left home. After placing the knife in his pocket where his phone was, he zipped up the book bag and tossed it over his right shoulder. He didn't have to worry about taking any other blades as he had some in the truck of his hummer.
Dexter placed his sunglasses on and head out of his dorm room. The halls were filled with students scrambling about, gathering as much things as they could carry. He shoved passed several students. If it was like this in the college dorms, he didn't want to know what it was like outside. Just as he expected, people rushed to their car. Horns continuously honking. Dexter needed to get the hell out, before he was blocked in. He quickly ran to his car which was parked in the student garage, pressing the unlock button on the small black remote on his key ring. The headlights blinked twice, as he reached the driver's side of his hummer. Dexter quickly opened the door, throwing his bag into the passenger seat and hoping in himself. There were several cars in front of him, but that wasn't going to stop him from getting out.
After starting his hummer, he put his seat belt on and placed it in drive and maneuvered through the traffic blocking his way out. Dexter was a really good driver, though he was also extremely reckless. He had gotten several speeding tickets along with traffic violations as well, but that never stopped him from driving the way he did. Dexter managed to make it to the main road, and headed for the highway. He was going at least 40 mph with not a care in the world. Dexter soon pulled onto the highway which would take him to Sarasota.
The drive there was smooth, Dexter was surprised on how little traffic there was. That was up until he got into Sarasota. Cars were stuck in non moving traffic almost bumper to bumper. Furiously, he started to honk his horn. He even started to yell.
"Come on. Move it alveady!"
After a half an hour of not moving, he decided to drive down the emergency lane and getting off the nearest exit. The hospital wasn't that far away, all he had to do was make it there and hopefully be able to catch Kenneth and Kimberly. Dexter started to slow down as he looked around towards civilians wearing face mask. Was this virus that bad? He turned to face the road, only to notice him coming up quickly on a car in front of him. By the time he hit the break, it was already too late. He had rear ended the car in front of him, and rather hard at that. Being the fact that his hummer was higher up off the ground, the only thing that really got messed up was his bumper. The car in front on the other hand had a bit more damage to it as the truck was crinkled up.
Several pieces from the brake lights were on the pavement. The back bumper of the other car was slightly hanging off with the truck dented in and crinkles. Dexter let out a few quick breaths as he stared at the car in front of him. Were they alright? A part of him wanted to check up on whoever the driver was, another part was just to leave. Nobody seemed to be stopping to come by and check up them anyways.
"Fuck it."
Without another thought, Dexter put the car in reverse giving him enough room to pull away as he put it back into drive. He saw the driver's side door open up slowly.
"Shit.."
Dexter hit the gas peddle, and sped off only to see a man come out and stick up his middle finger in the rear view mirror. He really didn't want to stick around and deal with all that bullshit. Not like he really gave a fuck anyways. The hospital was now starting to come into view. More and more people were seen wearing those face masks. Guards were patrolling the streets with their guns and bullet proof armor. The line going into the hospital was extremely long. It really wasn't a pleasant scene. It even sent chills up Dexter's spin. As he pulled in front of the hospital, he noticed Kim and Kenneth coming out of their car. Dexter placed his right hand on the horn and pressed it firmly, the car making a prolonged honk. The front of his hummer would be noticed by both of them as he pulled into the nearest parking spot.
Dexter turned off his vehicle and placed the keys in his empty pocket, before grabbing his bag out of the passenger seat. As he got out, he slammed the driver side door behind him, and jogged toward the two that were meeting him there. Before they even thought about asking any questions about what happened, he was just going to lie. No need to actually tell them what happened, Kenneth would literally give him hell for it. Dexter started to catch his breath
"Before you say anyzing, I hit an alligator and it volled up and hit my bumper."
His German accent was strong, but he was still understandable. Those English lessons really did pay off Dexter shrugged his shoulders in an "oh well" manner as he looked toward Kimberly. A slight grin appearing on his face. Dexter was known to flirt especially with Kimberly and knowing she had just turned 18, he would do it even more. It was simply to annoy Kenneth, he knew how over protective he could get especially when it came to his sister. He quickly winked toward her before shifting his eyes toward the line of people awaiting to receive their vaccines. It didn't seem like it was moving. He wondered what was the hold up, but he didn't want to ask questions. He was more so looking to see what Kenneth wanted to do.

| Riley Wells Sleep?
What was sleep?
Riley couldn’t fucking remember at this point. He was far too busy staring into the soul that dwelled within the black coffee in his mug. It was shaped like a raccoon, his dad had gotten it for him as a gift. Back in the year he basically lived in a pink sweater he called the “trash dolphin sweater” that had a dolphin on the front proclaiming “What a great day to be trash!”. Trash dolphin, trash panda, his dad thought he was so clever- what was he supposed to be thinking about? He ran his hands over his face. What day was it?
Keys jingled in the lock of his door, and he just groaned into his palms. “Riley? Are you awake?” Tim called into the walkway.
“What else would I be?”
“I was hoping the inevitable passage of time would have knocked you out by now.”
“Well, dear, you know I love to disappoint,” he sighed, running hands over his face before pushing himself up, and straightening his glasses.
“We need to go get that vaccine, Riley,” he followed the groaning man into his bedroom. Riley threw a fluffy pink sweater over his shoulders, “OR, we could avoid large areas of mass hysteria and not risk me being late to my shift on the rig.” He thumped his hand against Tim’s chest, his eyebrows perking for a second in a gesture that accentuated his annoyance. Passing him quickly, “I need stronger coffee.”
“Come on, Riley! What's the harm?”
“Fine! You want to argue about this again? What’s the harm? Lets see, if I were someone who had been attacked and was waiting and hoping that I don’t get sick? Were would I go? Oh I know! To the vaccination center! And then what might happen? I’ll go nuts and attack and kill a bunch of people waiting for help,” he threw his arms into the air. He was tired of this argument. Tired of this issue. Tired of getting emergency calls because someone got sassed at in public and thought they were being attacked.
“You’re being paranoid!”
“I’m being cautious! And I don’t want to be late for my shift.”
“When did you last sleep, Riley? Stop taking care of other people and not yourself. C’mon wouldn’t you rather be vaccinated when you next go see your dad?”
Riley moved his jaw a bit and stared at the tall ginger haired man in his living room, “That…is a low blow Tim.”
Hesitantly, Tim came closer, putting hands on both of Riley’s shoulders, “I’m trying to care about you.”
“Well you’re pissing me off,” Riley flustered a bit in frustration, but it was quickly stopping in his tracks.
“Please.”
“Fuck.”
A big smile spread on Tim’s face, “Good. I’ll drive.”
A deep sigh followed Tim downstairs to the still running mini cooper. “Your car is still dorky,” Riley grumbled falling into the passenger seat. When Tim had arrived to pick him up for their first date Riley hadn’t been able to stop laughing. The whole drive. All the way to the restaurant.
Even in the damn place looking at the menu. It didn’t fit Tim at all. He was tall and muscular and looked like he was always trying to be tougher than he was. For some reason it had been the funniest thing to Riley. Now he just pouted in the passenger seat. Tim babbling about the benefits of this endeavor, probably trying to make him feel better, the majority of the way toward the hospital. The only time hospitals were acceptable were when Riley was quickly dropping off someone else at one and then promptly leaving.
But even with the attempted comforting babble playing int he background, Riley got tense in the passenger seat as they started searching for a spot to stop the tiny silly car. More and more people were in masks, and soon there were men with guns. “Yeah, great idea Tim. Now we might get shot.”
“Calm down. They’re probably just protecting the vaccine.”
“Yeah, cause you need a machine gun to protect cases that are probably locked and locked up. Reasonable.”
“Government isn’t reasonable, Riley.”
The mini cooper rocked to a stop in one of the last relatively close parking spots, and at first Riley didn’t move a single inch. Replaying the oddly comforting sound of the gear shift clicking from drive into park. It was a good sound. The one that played when you get home. Maybe that's why he tried to hold on to the sound and refuse to acknowledge the scene around him. The taller man had to come over and open his door for him, “Riley. Come on. The sooner you get out the sooner we get this over with.”
“Fine.” Tan hands reached up to rub his face. He was so tired. His head was spinning. All his shifts were so long now. God he wanted to lay down and sleep.
Sleep.
What was sleep?
Riley couldn't remember anymore and forced himself to stand up out of the car. “Fine. Fine fine fine. Jesus fuck look at this mess. Do I need a mask? Did I miss some kind of fucking member memo?” There were people everywhere. Groups surrounding the hospital, people even in their personal space just getting out of cars in the parking lot. Anxiety was starting to grip at Riley’s chest. A vice that slowly tightened.
Swimming so deep in his own head he nearly ran into a young woman just trying to get out of a car, but he managed to avoid the collision all together. “Shit, sorry,” was all he could manage. It was too much. Guns, people, noise, masks, armor, rumbling cars. It was too much.
Tim’s face fell when he rounded the car to walk with him, switching to the few choice words he knew in sign, ‘Are you ok?’
Riley just quickly signed ‘anxiety’ and then pointed ahead. Might as well get this over with. This painful and unwanted and unnecessary nonsense. Having more coffee, or a snack would be a much better use of his time before work.
Fuck all of this. The way he nervously bit his lip and ran a hand through his hair showing just how much he wanted to leave.

*beep beep beep* *beep beep beep*
Jane turned over underneath her bed sheets as she could hear her alarm clock going off. She stretched her left hand out from underneath feeling the air trying to find her nightstand. As she wove her hand around in the air trying very hard not to pull the covers off her face, she smacked her hand against her open water bottle she placed there last night knocking it on the ground. "Fuck." Jane threw the sheets off her face, sitting upright.
*beep beep beep* *beep beep beep* Jane's alarm continued to scream at her as she broke into a panic. "Can you shut the fuck up!" Jane turned her bedside light on as she then proceeded to smash her hand against the snooze button. She took a quick glance onto the ground at the once half-full water bottle which created a fairly large wet spot on her carpet. She didn't want to wake up and she knew it was going to be a very busy day for her. She has to leave her studio apartment for 6:45, catch her cab for 7 just to make it to to the mental clinic visit her mother who has been staying there since Jane was 17 for 8. Spend an hour and a half with her mother, then rushing out of there to make it all the way across the city to her new System's Architect position for her 10-8 shift. Then again, this wasn't exactly what she would normally consider busy. She has been doing this for awhile now so she was used to this schedule for quite some time but she could hear her "friends" in the back of her head now "I don't understand how you can do it. You work such long hours...I don't think you're mother would be too upset if you didn't visit her a couple days out of the week. After all she did murder both your brother and father." Jane had a lot of friends in high school, but as she decided to focus on her career and herself, she lost a large amount of those people who truly understood her. Now that Jane started her full-time position along with visiting her mother in the clinic. Those she hung out with were more acquaintances over anything else. She lived alone, no animals, no boyfriend or fiance. Just herself. That's all she needed in her life. In her spare time Jane would read, paint, or take walks in the park. She didn't need anyone else to tell her what to do and in a way it was very euphoric to her.
"Okay, time to get up." Jane threw her sheets aside on the bed as she stood up and walked over to the window flinging the curtains wide open revealing very little light. She turned over to look at her clock which she beat with her hand moments earlier. The time read 5:30 AM. Jane opened her closet door feeling around one of the shelves above her head and moments later her hand brushed up against a towel. She snatched it from her closet slamming the door behind her as she placed the dry towel on top of the wet spot on her carpet. "Good thing this isn't the wine I was drinking the other night." Jane stared at the white carpet focusing her eyes on the wet spot.
Jane hurried into her bathroom flinging a different towel on the counter in her bathroom as she stepped into the shower. Some time later Jane got dressed and threw her damp hair in a half-assed ponytail. She stared at herself in the mirror looking at her light blue silk blouse she had just bought the other day. Jane looked herself up and down making sure there wasn't any laundry lint on her black dress pants. Jane scurried into her kitchen as she popped a k-cup into her keurig. Jane placed a small travel mug in the holder pressing her finger against the brew button. She sat down on her kitchen bar stool as she tapped her fingers against the counter watching the keurig work it's magic. She started falling into deep thought as the coffee started pouring into the mug. "How fucking insane is it with everything going on right now...this strange man at the airport just starts...attacking people? What the fuck is going on?" Jane's deep thought was interrupted by this awful sound on her cellphone coming from her bedroom. Jane looked at the clock on her microwave as the time read 7:00. "FUCK! I'm late!" She jumped out of the chair running into her room to grab her phone of the nightstand screaming "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SOUND?". Jane picked up her phone from the nightstand pulling the charger cord out from it's port in a very violent manner. Jane tapped her phones touch screen swiping up to enter her passcode and unlock it revealing a bold messsage on the main screen.
Jane wore an emotionless expression on her face for a moment which quickly turned fearful. "Wha...what the fuck? The first 800?" Jane turned fearful of the events that were about to happen. She slowly sat down on on the bed dropping her phone on the floor in the process. She couldn't believe what was going on. I mean, she was aware of what happened at the airport. But could it have really gotten this bad? Also why only 800 people? There were so many factors to consider and clearly not enough time. Jane stood up feeling uneasy. She bent down and picked her phone up off the floor switching it to vibrate showing no concern that she had even dropped it. Jane walked to the opposite side of her room grabbing her bag from on top of her dresser. Jane untied the top of her bag dropping her phone in as she headed into the kitchen opening her fridge grabbing a water bottle from the shelf inside. She dropped the bottle of water inside her bag as she tied the knot back up and flinging the bag around her holding onto one of the straps as she pulled it up her arm and onto her shoulder. "I can't believe this is happening right now." That's the only thing Jane manage to say as she slammed her fridge closed and grabbed her coffee mug from the keurig. She gathered her coat which hung on her living room chair and her keys that were carefully placed in a tray by her apartment door on a very small table. Jane unlocked her door from the inside, swung the door open as she stepped out into the hall, pulled the door closed as she locked it behind her. The minute Jane stepped outside a man bumped into her spilling her coffee all over her new blouse. "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!" Jane screamed in a fit of rage. How could people be so reckless. She dumped the remaining contents of her coffee as she stared at her bag which fell on the ground. Jane untied the knot and pulled her phone out, as she tied the bag back up pulling the strap onto her shoulder. Jane unlocked her phone and opened up her speed dial list. The number listed for her mother's clinic was at the very top. As Jane hit call she stared around the street and began to notice something was off. As the phone kept ringing she squinted a bit and in the distance she noticed several people wearing masks over their face. She began to feel very light headed as a woman's voice on the other end of the line finally answered the phone and spoke "Sarasota Mental Health Clinic, this is Amy speaking. How may I assist you today?" Jane was quiet for several seconds before the woman's voice spoke again "Hello? Is anyone there?" Jane broke out of her trance as she was still staring at the people wearing the masks walking around. "Yes of course I'm sorry Amy, how are you doing? It's me Jane Summers. I was supp.." "Jane!" The receptionist Amy cut Jane off. "I called you several times last night. I know it was very late so I understand why you didn't answer, but it's about your mother. She managed to get a hold of a knife from lunch and we found her about an hour later, she slit her wrists in attempt to kill herself." Jane held her chest feeling sick to her stomach as she just heard the worst news of her life. "What are you talking about? That's impossible she was doing so well...why would she try to kill herself? There must be some mistake." Jane's voice cracked a bit at the end as she struggled to speak. "Jane, listen to me. There is no need to worry. She was transferred to Sarasota Memorial for further care. She is being well attended to." "SARASOTA MEMORIAL? As in the same hospital they're giving out the vaccine for this strange new virus going around? "Yes Jane, but you shouldn't worry. I'm more than positiv..." Jane quickly pressed her thumb on the end button. She started to panic. "How the fuck am I going to get to my mother with all this shit going on? It's going to be a madhouse there." She thought to herself frantically as she scanned the streets for a cab. She immediately started hyperventilating as her fear intensified. Finally what felt like hours of looking up and down the street she saw a cab coming her way so she threw her hand up in the air screaming for the driver to stop. The cab driver slowly pulled up next to her not even coming to a stop before Jane yanked the door wide open and slid inside. "Woah there young lady. What's yer' hurry?" The cab driver half scoffed at her. "I need to get to Sarasota Memorial as quick as possible." Jane yelled at the driver. "Young lady...you do realize there are people walking around with masks on correct?" "I'm well aware of that. But what does that even have to do with YOU getting me to the hospital as quickly as possible?" Jane growled at the driver. "Well...on another note. Maybe all the armed guards stationed outside the hospital, and all the traffic coming into town because of this magical vaccine, we could be in this car for quite a while. I sure do hope you have a lot of cash on you." The driver smirked at her as she ordered him to start driving. Money wasn't an issue at this moment. She was worried about her mother, even with the news update of what was happening right now at the hospital. Jane looked at the clock on the drivers dash. The time read 9:37. She wondered how time went by so fast. Then again it didn't really matter. There was so much fucked up shit going on right now, she didn't care. She just wanted to get to the hospital, try to get through the crowds of people and get to her mother.
Jane uncapped the water bottle she put in her bag a couple hours earlier. She still hadn't arrived to the hospital yet and she was sitting in the cab for a good hour and a half. She glanced at the clock on the dash the time reading 10:55. Jane couldn't even express the anxiety that was overcoming her. Traffic was so bad there were moments where the car didn't move an inch for what seemed like 10 minutes. She had to get to the hospital. While in the cab she tried several times to get through to Sarasota Memorial but there was no answer. Finally as the driver turned a corner she could see the hospital in view. More and more people were wearing masks, and several without masks looked more sick than those with the masks on. Jane finally stopped the driver. "Here is fine. I can walk the rest of the way." She couldn't stand sitting the car any longer. It smelled of rotten food and another mysterious smell she couldn't identify. Jane pulled the handle on the cab door. As she opened it the driver grabbed her shoulder and looked at her. "Eh-hem. Are you forgetting something?" Jane looked over at him as his finger started tapping the debit machine. Jane rolled her eyes as she rummaged through her bag pulling out her wallet selecting a random card. Not even paying attention to the price of the fare, she put her card back in her wallet, dropped her wallet in her bag and gave the driver a fake smile as she stepped out of the car slamming the door closed.
As Jane entered the main lobby of the hospital she was getting extremely nervous at just how chaotic it was. Everyone looked scared and she could barely hear her own thought due to how loud it was. It was starting to become more visible to just how many armed men there were. It was as if the whole hospital was on lock-down. No one in, and no one out. Is this vaccination just a ruse? It wasn't apparent that anyone was being attended to. Jane was unable to think properly. She wasn't sure what to do. Should she get closer to the main desk? Should she stay put? Her mother was somewhere inside, hurt. Jane managed to push her way through a large crowd of people receiving nasty looks and comments along the way. Finally she accidentally bumped into one of the armed men. "Excuse me miss. I would advise you to take a step back." Jane looked up at this very bruiting tall man in uniform with a villainous expression on his face. "I'm sorry, my apologies. Look, I need some help. My mother is a patient here. I need to see her." Jane pleaded to the guard but he didn't seem to blink one bit. "No one allowed past the lobby until further notice. You're just going to have to wait your turn." "No you don't understand. I'm not even here for the vaccine. I just need to ge..." The guard pushed her back as he noticed more people crowding around behind her. He immediately raised his gun in front of her face. "As I said before, no one allowed past the lobby right now. Step back, or I will be forced to take another form of action to make you step back." Jane stumbled over her own feet as she fell to the ground slowly crawling backwards gasping for air. She never had a gun held to her before. She was unable to breathe as two people pulled her up back onto her feet. Jane spun around holding her chest to see two people around her age. A man covered in tattoos and a woman with long curly hair. "Thank you" Jane spoke as she was short of breath. "I didn't know what to do...I just fell. I couldn't do anything. He held a gun to my head. Thank you, again." Jane looked past the two people who just pulled her up to her feet and couldn't believe her eyes. Was coming here the right thing to do? I mean, she needed to be here for her mother...but will she even get to see her?

He tapped his finger on the steering wheel, feeling the ring he wore on his index finger make an impact between his flesh and the leather covering the plastic. The silence between them, in his opinion, was godsent- although he wanted to listen to his music, so it was becoming quickly insufferable. He wasn’t pleased he had to take such a dangerous job to make ends meet but he could rest well knowing it would soon be over and he’d never have to drive around such a snobbish bitch again. Despite his internal harsh words, he didn’t honestly hate her, but he kept glancing back at Anna. “Is there a reason you’re oogling me?” Don’t flatter yourself, he thought, although he wished she didn’t look like a model- she’d be easier to ignore. “No, miss. I’m just checking to make sure nobody is approaching the vehicle.” He wasn’t wrong- he’d been noticing a few military vehicles parked on the road closer to their destination. “Do you see them?” “You mean the military propaganda? Yes. It’s making me nervous.” He was surprised she’d admit to being nervous, but maybe this was her way of saying she trusted him enough to have her back. In his dreams, she was probably just thinking something condescending like maybe it’ll calm him down if she looks afraid. “This may be a little bigger than a virus.” Now that worried him. Her tone was calm and she was assessing the situation- she was just like the old man. No wonder he trusted her to sort out what was really going on here. He flicked on the seat heater on his side, hoping to further make himself feel comfortable. However, more and more cars were parked on the side of the road and they could see the beginning of a crowd- people were walking and gathering around the hospital. “I’m going to pull around the back and we’re going to sneak in through the employee entrance.” A little snicker from her gave him more than enough of a reason to shoot an irritated glare in her direction. She was always laughing. It was in a mocking manner, too. “ What?” She crossed her legs, that confident smile coming into play as she leaned back into the leather of the car. “You think we’re the only ones who’d be sneaking around back there? In this panic, there’s got to be some people trying to get in through the back to be one of the eight hundred.” She gestured towards the crowd, which he noted that plenty of people had masks covering their faces. Barely anyone was without. “Now that you mention… is this virus airborne?” Anna frowned, her eyes moving from his face to the window behind him as the chair underneath her squeaked when she repositioned herself to get a better view. “It shouldn’t be, no- then again, we don’t have any details, but wouldn’t there be… more outbreaks? Wouldn’t it be dangerous to gather people all in one place?” She had a good point. “...Just something to keep in mind, I suppose.” His mind refracted back to her father’s words. “He says to check if the vaccine works. If it does, then hurry back to his office with the jet located at the private airport and he’ll get you into the lab. My job is to see you injected before any of these people.” He didn’t like the idea of this, though. He didn’t want to bring it up much, but wasn’t it a bit strange the government would offer it to only eight hundred people? Surely they were smart enough to realize riots would break out amongst those who didn’t receive the vaccine? He didn’t want to believe that something more nefarious was going on, but why’d they announce it and collect all of these hopeful people? Sure, it’s a fast method of testing the vaccine, but didn’t that mean the situation may be worse than the media was showing? So many questions, so little answers. Finding an open spot on the side of the road, he slid smoothly beside the curb before stopping entirely and shifting the gear into park, opening the door. Anna got out on her respective side and as they stood side by side, gazing up at the hospital, he found himself intimidated by the things he didn’t know. He only knew that the life of his family depended on whether or not he could do this, but her father was in the process of evacuating them now. He said that they’d be in Japan by tomorrow night, on a private, sterilized jet. He hadn’t seen them off, but he had received the texts. He hoped that they would make it and he hoped that he would be able to follow. As he and Anna entered the crowd, she grabbed his wrist. He looked down at her, and she glared back up. "I do not want to get seperated." He tried not to read too much into the action, but he did have a tendency to overthink. What was he supposed to think? Jesus, he wished he didn't have a mind. As she led him through the crowd, intent on proving her alpha-wolf behaviour to be truth and not fiction, he thought back on all of the other times he'd met Anna. Having worked for her father for three years, all of their interactions had been quick, to the point and completely full of loathing. She'd always been an independent bitch, in the words of those who'd worked closely with her, more intent on completing whatever task her father gave her than working with others. Of course, it seemed like up close like this- despite all of the gossip he'd heard- maybe she wasn't as bad as they were saying. Surely she had redeeming moments? Wait a minute, why was he letting her lead?! He was the bodyguard here!

The Plot Progresses...
Clarissa's eyes slowly opened and adjusted to the dim room. She didn't feel well; Did she really do that much coke last night? She couldn't remember. Actually, she didn't even remember checking into this hotel. Who was she with? The small framed black haired girl carefully rolled to the side of the bed, her hands racing to her forehead to put pressure against her throbbing temples. She reached an arm out to the side table and began feeling around for her phone.
Table Alarm clock Glass of water- Now on the floor. Cell phone! She grabbed it and held her thumb to the home button. Her eyes were shut as she waited for the screen to illuminate. When it didn't the girl opened her eyes,
"What the fuck?" Her eyes pinned back, her heart dropping into her stomach. Her hands and arms were covered in blood, her cell phone screen smashed into tiny bits being held back by a screen protector. Clarissa sat up straight, her eyes studying the room around her in horror. Blood was everywhere, it soiled the white duvet cover and splattered against the walls and carpet. She scooted herself out of the bed quickly and hit the floor with a loud thud.
Clank- Clank- Gurgle- Groan-
It sounded like someone was in the bathroom. Clarissa lifted herself from the bloody carpet in a huff of disgust. In doing so she got a good look at herself in the mirror above the dresser. Pain rushed over her body like a wave crashing down and she began to tremble. Half of her face had been ripped off, the flesh hanging from the edge of her left jaw. She shrieked, stumbling forward to get a closer look in the mirror. Tears rushed down her face, the salty liquid stinging the open wound.
"Help! Somebody help me!" She screamed. Whoever was in the bathroom began stirring around more, hitting the door and knocking things down onto the tile floor. "Please help me!" She screamed again, stumbling over to the door where the noise came from. Her hands were shaking uncontrollably, she could barley get a grip on the door knob between the tremors and the blood. "What... what happened?" She was crying, her body going into shock. Finally she grasped the knob tight enough to pull it open. Inside the walls were splattered with blood, the same as in the main room. The medicine cabinet had been pulled from the wall and laid in the open bathtub in two bloody and abused pieces. She was trying to piece everything together in a matter of seconds but her train of thought was interrupted by teeth latching onto her calf.
Clarissa screamed again, her hands racing down to the head that was at her feet. She grabbed them by the hair and yanked them off of her body, skin ripping away in their mouth. She looked at their face; It was covered in blood, their eyes washed white and blood shot. Their veins seemed to have surfaced turning their pale skin bruised and spider-webbed. The worst part is their chest seemed to be caved in, ribs sticking out between torn skin. It looked like someone had beat them, there was no way they could be alive.
In a burst of adrenaline Clarissa ran for the door. Trembling hands fidgeting with the locks until she opened it and darted down the hall screaming. For some reason no one seemed to be in the hotel... She navigated her way out onto the street where cars lined the lanes in almost stopped traffic. Everyone around her wore a face mask and as she ran down the road people all stopped and stared, but no one cared to help.
"Someone help me!" She screamed, still running. Thankfully she knew where she was, it was only a block away from the hospital. Clarissa ran into the road in between the snailing cars, she ran through parking lots and in between the closely knit buildings. She was exhausted and quickly running out of breath. She looked over her shoulder and noticed a trail of blood following her limping dashes. She began feeling weak but still kept running, she knew she needed to get to the ER or she was going to bleed out.
How come no one is helping me? She kept going, becoming more and more weak with each stride. Finally she reached the hospital, her body falling against the side of the building smearing blood as she slinked past the commotion in front of the doors. Men with guns? Wait where they guns? As she neared the door to the lobby her vision began to blur, everything was fading in and out. She stumbled into the sliding doors and fell to her knees.
"Ple- pl-" She could barely talk, her body started to stiffen and when she lifted her head she couldn't see anything. "So- elp- ple" She couldn't talk, nothing was working. She lifted herself back to her feet and began stepping forwards. She wanted to scream but as she inhaled into to release the air from her chest a searing pain flew right through her filled lungs. Her eye sight flickered back in for only a moment and she saw a man with a large gun standing before her and just as quickly as she tried to gasp for help he fired his weapon, bullets raining through her chest.
The woman's body hit the floor and the large crowd all stepped away, some running for the door. The men with guns blocked the exits, their guns now in firing position. The man who shot the black haired woman down stepped over to her and reached for her neck, pulling off his glove to feel for a pulse. She was dead for sure. He turned to his crew and gave them a hand signal. As they were about to move from the doors to let the panicked crowed out of the lobby the girl shot straight up from the floor, her hands reaching out for the man that shot her dead. She grasped his arm and the crowed watched in horror as she tore into her flesh, teeth ripping skin away from his bones. Guns rang out into the room once more, this time shooting not only the girl but the man as well. Bullets sprayed from poorly trained hands and hit a few in the surrounding area. Screamed filled the room, blood spilling out onto the floor. The girl was on her feet now and spun around, attacking a young man standing behind her. Her teeth dug into his shoulder then violently ripped away, pulling skin and tendons out into her mouth.
Among the screaming a pained yell was heard above the rest. "Tim!"
The hospital was in total chaos. The doors were flooded, some of the armed men trampled into corpse pancakes onto the tile floor. Guns still echoed through the room, bullets spraying left and right. Anyone that looked sick had been shot and as if a trigger occurred they became aggressive, attacking anyone in their wake.
Your prompt; (Rallying the troops) The doors leading out of the hospital are a shit show. Bodies began piling up blocking the exit. There are also two corridors that lead from the lobby, the large metal doors activated only by an employee card. Options are thinning and among the bloody chaos you choose to head towards the right corridor, hoping to find someone to open it. You see man with blonde hair and a suit on standing at the lobby desk, he seems to be tossing things around. You notice he finds the employee key card and as he rushes back to the door to open it you follow in toe.

"Ken, I don't like this." Kimberly's voice sounded scared and unsure. He put his arm around his little sister and pulled her close. The lobby was packed and it was clear that things were going south quickly. No one was being helped, the women tending the front desk looked like they were on the verge of tears, and the men with guns didn't seem like they knew what they were supposed to be doing let alone even wanting to be there. The whole situation was sketchy and Ken wanted answers.
"Before you say anyzing, I hit an alligator and it volled up and hit my bumper." Dexter's thick accent snuck up behind Kenneth and Kim. He turned around to see the brunette German bastard standing right behind them.
"Shit, you scared the hell out of me." He was annoyed to begin with and the jump scare didn't help. "Also, I don't even need to look at your car to know you're full of shit." He furrowed his brows at his friend's silly story. "You got here quick for hitting a gator, huh? I hate to burst your bubble but I think we're going to leave. This whole thing seems really off to me." He still held Kim close to him but he pulled away quickly as a blonde women in front of them fell backwards. He didn't even notice her until she was already in his arms.
"I didn't know what to do...I just fell. I couldn't do anything. He held a gun to my head. Thank you, again."
"Wait he held a gun to you? What do you mean?" Kenneth was almost angry for her. This whole thing was nuts and he was reaching his limit. "We need to get out of here. This was a bad idea." He turned to Dexter and Kim. "If you know what's good for you, you'll leave too." He looked to the young blonde as he helped her compose herself. "This isn't safe." He tried to sound like it wasn't freaking him out but it was tough.
The crowd gasped followed by terrified screaming. Kenneth stood on the tips of his toes to try and see what was going on. It seemed like the crowd had stepped away from a girl who just walked into the lobby. He couldn't see anything else very well but the situation became painfully clear when the sound of a gun rang throughout the room. More shrieking ensued and moments later a parade of gun shots filled his ears. They were opening fire on the fucking crowd!
Kenneth reached to his boot and pulled up his pant leg. He yanked the sheath from his ankle and wrapped it around his wrist, the blade's handle at his finger tips.
"We need to leave. We need to fucking go now." Kenneth grabbed Kimberly's hand and was about to head towards the door when he noticed a man being attacked by a black haired blood covered woman right by the exit. Guns began shooting in their direction and at that moment it became painfully obvious that no one was going to get a vaccination today. They were trying to rally everyone up and look for the people who were already sick...
