Riley Wells So.... pros: Kimberly was kind. She took a moment to stop him. 'I'm sorry about your boyfriend' it was like a drink of cold water. A shock to the system. He was sorry too. "Thanks, I'm Riley" he said with a slight smile. One she probably couldn't see. "No- no you're right. We do. Stay safe." He'd squeezed her small hand back, and found that they managed to catch a glance of each other in the red lighting.
Be safe. That was what his dad almost always told him when he was going out. There was no way he was okay anymore, was there?
Now wasn't the time.
Cons: The whole, people eating people, Quarantine area, pitch black, and the key balance of finding a weapon before he needed a weapon. Great.
So the cons outweighed the pros so far by a bit.
He made his way through the corridor, not bothering people who were searching but trying to keep a mental note of where everyone was right now. Past the closet getting searched was more hospital, he went forward with both urgency, but like a scared little bitch, which he was.
Riley felt the next door handle, pulling out his phone to look at what they were. Bedrooms, uhh, bedrooms. Huh. Riley gripped the door handle tighter, and leaned his ear next to the door. The moment he heard scrapping inside he Noped out very hard. Running a bit farther down the corridors. It was terrifying. The darkness made this feel like someone took Left 4 Dead and stuffed it into a Slender Man game. Why him? This wasn't his forte. He wasn't a fighter and he was very easily startled. "I'm gonna fuckin' die," Riley mumbled to himself trying to make his way as quickly, but safely as possible down the hall a bit.
Kitchen. Oh yeah. Oh yes. A kitchen had never looked so comforting and sexy. He grabbed the first metal object he saw, a discarded pan, holding it like a baseball bat. Or like really anyone from any movie. Walking deep into the kitchen, it didn't seem like anyone was in here. Lets see, lets see, he rummaged through things best he could. Drawers in a kitchen were a lot more frightening when you can't see what you're sticking your hand into.
Meat mallet, that was the first useful thing he found. Not idea but at least it was more convenient a bat than a hand.
"Ow- FUCK." He sucked in hair, putting one of his fingers into his mouth. "Well I found the knives..." he mumbled again. Grabbing the two that felt long, and two of the little paring knives. "Who's crazy for always having band-aids now, Tim? Not me, ya fucker," he pulled it apart in the dark, discarding the packaging of the bandage onto the floor. Riley barely managed to get it on comfortably. On his way out he spotted the kitchen first-aid. "Oh yeah," he almost purred. Medical supplies, now that was Riley's wheel house.
His shaky hands grabbed the knives and he headed back into the hallways toward the group. "Found some knives in the staff kitchen! Someone take the extra. I heard some scrapping in one of the bedrooms, you guys. I don't think we're alone," he made sure to yell loudly, project his voice so they all could hear. He spotted Kim and the man with the strong accent, did he hear his name earlier, he couldn't remember.
"Hey," he caught their attention, lightly putting a hand on the man's shoulder. "Either of you need a knife? There were like - four useful ones. Lots of bread knives."
Pros: Sharp and lethal. Cons: No real good way to carry a kitchen knife in the pitch black.
"I grabbed the first aid in there too, I'm a paramedic, which... hopefully doesn't, but might come in handy considering how well this going."

The group, for the most part, had agreed to work together. Anna looked at what was surely impossible to miss, the big, bright red letters only serving to motivate her further. Quarantine? They could surely expect to find more of the rabid populace behind that wall of plastic, which meant that for the most part they should be fine, provided they don’t waste their bullets. “Amadeus, look around for something that could be used as a blunt weapon. Noise will just make things worse for us and we want to be able to sneak up on these things if we can.” She ignored his signature eye roll and over dramatic presence as he lounged around, looking for something of use. From her training with weaponry, she knew both Amadeus and herself had fully loaded guns; twelve bullets in each for a grand total of twenty-four. Of course, as Amadeus actually went to carry out her order, the sound of the entire building powering down filled the ears of the group and Anna sighed, not being able to see a single thing in front of her. “Fuck. This is what I get for not calling in sick today.” The loud alarm coursing through the halls was more of a warning than anything, but neither of the mafiosos flinched. As the red lights flicked on, illuminating the corridors with an eerie glow, Amadeus let out a condescending laugh. “You’d probably blow your brains out if you missed out on a single day of work, you workaholic.” “Shut up.” Anna muttered. She wasn’t really privy to today; maybe it was the fact she had to stick around Amadeus, or maybe it was the fact the army pray & sprayed into the crowd she was in- no, maybe it was the goddamned disease going around that made people rabid! The man with all of the tattoos shouted something about splitting off from the group and Anna wondered if they’d find his body in more than one piece, although there wasn’t much time to go back for it, so he was a lost cause. Ah well, less weight for the chopper. As the man left, there was this highly over dramatic situation where his sister ended up losing her shit. It seemed like everyone was intent on ignoring her, however. Anna could relate and went on her merry way through to the hallway, Amadeus following close behind. It seemed like for the most part the others were searching around in the hallway rather than going through the rooms, although Anna had to give it to the lady that just totally lost her brother- that guy was never coming back. At least she could keep it together despite basically seeing him commit suicide, even if it was a slow, unsuspecting suicide. Anna, on the other hand, focused on the right side of the hallway, slightly opening the door of the room on the right to peer in. What she saw wasn’t exactly the nicest of things; six beings strapped down to hospital beds, struggling desperately to break free and surely infected with the virus. She closed the door, cringing ever so slightly. This was not a place they needed to go, they could stay out of it forever and still be fine.

Amadeus was, however, of a different mindset. He had followed Kimberly into the broom closet and, completely ignoring her, yanked the broom over her head, the bottom of it slightly hitting her as he walked out of the closet with little to no care for her. The next thing he did was put his foot in the door as Anna tried to close it. He was given a warning glare, but Amadeus was not a man who listened to warnings; no, fuck that! If there were rabid fucks in there, he was gonna bust some heads open. Gripping the handle of the wooden broom, he cautiously opened the door. Despite his stupidity, Amadeus knew he had to do this carefully- he wasn’t the type of stupid fuck to get himself killed while these things were strapped down to a table. Advancing on the one closest to the door, quiet steps in mind, he rose the broom over his head, the blunt end to be his weapon. The difference between Amadeus and Anna was that Amadeus had heavy muscle- even with an object like this, it didn’t matter what got in his way. He could turn a fucking dust pan into a weapon of killing force if he really needed to. Slamming the bottom end of the broom into the skull of the being, he expected to hear a sickly squish sound. It wasn’t something he was naive to; he did a lot of killing and so did Anna. Anna, however, removed her gun from her purse while he wasn’t looking. Amadeus would continue around the room in this fashion, attempting to crush their lives by poking the end of the broom through their eyesockets. Anna, on the other hand, was on standby- her skills with guns weren’t as good as Amadeus’, but she could shoot close-range like this. She’d have no problem aiming, but Amadeus would have to do the rest in terms of reaction time.

Kenneth looked out the window and his heart sank. The hospital parking lot was a bumper to bumper shit show of car accidents and open doors leading all the way out into the streets for as far as he could see. It appeared as though civilians all rushed to leave- but apparently they didn't get far.
The initial shock of the massacre inside the lobby had sent people running for their lives, which in turn left them at a complete disregard for anyone but themselves. Ken imagined people were still in some of the cars hiding for their lives, but as he scanned the still running cars from the safety of the window they all appeared to be empty.
To his surprised he didn't see anyone or anything in the mess of vehicles- that's not to say there wasn't anything out there though. With a deep breath Kenneth took his cigarettes out and lit one.
"With any luck you'll be what kills me, and it won't be today." He whispered to himself before dragging the tobacco and inhaling deeply. His hands were shaking almost uncontrollably and the thought of what he was about to do made him feel disgustingly sick. He took another drag and held in the smoke filled nicotine before he put it out on the windowsill and slipped the half-smoked butt back into the black and blue pack.
With trembling hands Kenneth unlocked the sliding glass window just enough for him to punch out the screen. It fell off into the bushes and he waited for a moment, praying nothing sprung to life from the rustling of the leaves. So far so good.
With carefully calculated movements Ken pushed the window open wide enough for him to swing his legs over and hop down into the bush himself. It wasn't a far drop, just a couple feet, but he still braced himself. He didn't know what to expect... Disembodied torsos dragging themselves to him, ready to gnaw at his ankles just like in The Walking Dead?
No. This isn't... It's not. He pushed the idea of the undead out of his mind as far as he could, but it still haunted him.
Ken grasped his skateboard in his hands tightly. He wanted to hop on it but he was frozen in fear, worried that the moment the wheels hit the pavement it would summon some devilish beast from hell. So instead he crouched behind cars and began navigating his way out of the parking lot, keeping sure to look around and not get too close to open car doors. He's seen this episode before.
As he neared a grassy opening at the edge of the lot his heart skipped a beat. Pushing his body flush between a white sedan and a gray mini cooper he peered at the body of an older woman, she was laying on the ground face up, her eyes void but looking in Ken's direction. Just he had feared, it appeared that another person was feasting on the woman's body in a bloody mess. He watched as it ripped at skin and pulled out organs, shoving them into it's mouth before digging back in for more. It took all the will power -
"Fuck!" Kenneth leaped forward, throwing his board onto the ground and jumping on it. He sailed forward in between the traffic, glancing back to see bloodied hands reaching out from the mini cooper's window. That could have been it, that could have been it. His heart was racing, he almost couldn't think straight, let alone see straight. He did his best to focus his attention to navigating between the cars but as he sped down the road away from the hospital he began to spot more and more people staggering about the area- all of them bloody and beaten.
He pushed himself forward, picking up as much speed as he could. Rolling down the yellow lines he did his best to stay clear of anything that could knock him off his board. It's been a long time since he's fallen off and he didn't want today to be the day that changed that. Still going at a steady pace down the street he seemed to be making good time and avoiding anything moving. He was only a block away from where they parked and as he passed an intersection he heard the unmistakable sound of someone calling for help.
Ken wanted to ignore it, he wanted to keep going and forget he had heard anything other than the siren from the hospital behind him; But as his eyes followed the scream he spotted it's owner. A young girl with silver hair stood atop an ambulance and at it's hood were two of these... things. They were clawing at the vehicle, doing their best to try and get to her.
"Shit. Shit, shit, shit, shit." Kenneth groaned to himself, stopping his board mid stride. Before he could change his mind or even think he set off at a sprint towards the scene, coming up behind a blood covered woman. He grabbed her by the back of her shirt and with a strong and swift adrenaline-fueled movement he tossed her body over the hood of the ambulance into the man who was on the other side. Their bodies hit the pavement, tangled into one another as they tried to lift themselves up. Kenneth got a good look at them, their eyes were blood shot and their skin was pale and sickly. They must have come from the hospital and Kenneth knew what he had to do...
Adrenaline still pumping through his veins Ken pulled his boot knife out and lunged at the two on the ground, grabbing the woman by her hair and driving the blade straight through her eye, blood splattering in all directions staining his neck and cheek. With a quick twist of the metal she became limp, her body weighing down the man under her. He knew he should do off with him too, but he couldn't bring himself to. Not now, not yet. He couldn't even process what had just happened... Did he kill someone?
Shaking out of the shock that was about to set in reached a hand out to the woman on top of the ambulance. "Come on, we need to go. Now!"

Hearing treading on the sidewalk, her eyes flickered open and her hands slightly dropped from her head. She couldn't place exactly where it was coming from, however she knew it was close if she could hear it. Her attention went to the freaks below her, watching as they intently tried to reach her before she looked up again, now seeing the source of the treading. It was a young male (approximately her age) on a skateboard. "H-Hey! Help! Help me, please!" she shouted, her hands waving in the air. She was reluctance in his face, and for a brief moment, lost all hope of getting out of here alive. Suddenly, a change of heart occured and he came back! This dude damn near leaped off his board with a knife and stabbed the woman in the head, flinging his body into the male beside the truck. She couldn't look away from the scene for a split minute until the newcomer's voice ripped through her ears, telling her to go with him and extending a hand. She observed for a moment, seeing this man shake. He had to feel guilty, right? He clearly wasn't a sociopath?
With a quick look around, she put her hand in his and leaped down to the hood of the ambulance before hopping onto the ground. "Where are we going?" she asked shakily, looking around. She noticed the male below the female's body reaching for them, gargling. "Thank you for doing that, and helping me down. You quite literally saved my life," and Lilianna was grateful; though she didn't feel worth it after the past events. After all her boyfriend left after who remembers how long, she had to move, she comes here and starts all over, no friends, and now this? Lilianna'd been about ready to give it all up. She didn't know how well she'd get through this. "Do you have any idea what's going on here? What any of this means?" she wanted answers, though she doubted anyone had them at this point. What happened to these people and why was there a siren in the distance?
Ignoring all of her curiosity, she started running and following the man with the skateboard before her. "I'm Lilianna, call me Lana if you want. Can I know your name?" she asked, at least hoping she'd be able to know who saved her. She make sure to keep her eyes peeled, looking from side to side periodically. There was a smell in the air. Gasoline, fire, decay. It was a disgusting place to be. She pulled out her phone, taking a few pictures and sending them to her parents in a hope they'd send someone to come help her or that maybe Dan would. Why did she come here to begin with? Why'd she have to start doing FX school? This was just all together a bunch of bupkus. She blamed Dan, though inwardly knew somehow it was more her fault than his. She could be pretty obnoxious. It had to be something to do with that. In fact, she had to hope she didn't talk her rescuers ear off and make him so tired of her that he left. That would be just her luck. Right now, she felt like she owed him a bit though and had to make it up to him; besides, he was now the only person she knew. She had no idea if her classmates or teachers were okay, or anyone else she met. She had no clue if her apartment building was even still standing or if it'd burned down in her absence.

Dexter's thick accent somehow gave Kim some hope. She smiled at his remark of keeping her safe and she hoped to god he was capable of it if that's what it came down to. She thought she might be able to protect herself, but then again she'd never had to- Not in this sort of situation at least.
As Kim studied the group she watched everyone wonder off to find a weapon. The thought of needing one was insane and the fact that there wasn't really much to be used as a weapon just laying around didn't help. She was as pleased as she could be with what she found, however she didn't want to have to test it.
"Um, I think this will work? I mean, I suppose with enough effort this would stab someone right?"
The blonde girl snuck up on Kim and she held herself from visibly jumping, however her heart definitely skipped a beat. Turning to face her and getting a look at her choice of weapon when the red flashing light came back around she held herself from scoffing. Really? Where the fuck did she pick that up from?
"I mean, I guess?" Kim shrugged, rolling her eyes as the hall went black again. She caught herself being bitchy, why was she even doing that? After the short mental evaluation she took a deep breath and attempted kindness. "What's your name anyway?"
Before she could answer Riley appeared before them in a beam of red. "Hey. Either of you need a knife? There were like - four useful ones. Lots of bread knives." What a fucking savior!
"Oh my god where did you find these?" Kim grinned, taking a large knife from him. She still held onto her scraper figuring it could be used for some distance protection, but this knife was going to be a blessing to have if she actually needed to use it.
"I grabbed the first aid in there too, I'm a paramedic, which... hopefully doesn't, but might come in handy considering how well this going." The man said. He was useful, definitely useful. She noted that and knew she needed to keep him on her side if this little group were to fall apart. And, speaking of, Kim watched the two mob kids venture off into a closed door. Being the nosy girl she is Kim followed along.
They entered a bedroom, Kim close behind. Inside there were several people strapped to hospital beds fighting to be freed. What in the actual hell was going on here? Why would a hospital be treating these poor people like animals? And then the man with the gun shoved the blunt end of a broom through one of their eye sockets.
"What the fuck?" Kim breathed, immediately flushing her body to the wall. Was this guy crazy? He doesn't even know if they're infected with the virus! She held onto her knife tightly in her palm and watched as the monster went from bed to bed, impaling each person with the broom stick. "He's a fucking sociopath." She whispered, her heart stopping as he turned around with the black haired mob girl. It was do or die now! She thought, realizing they must have seen her tucked away in the corner of the room. She stepped forward and with a deep breath she asserted herself.
"Are you fucking nuts?" She growled "You just killed those people? Why?" Her hands were shaking but she did her best to hide it, grasping the knife even tighter to help tense the muscles. "This isn't a fucking movie, those people are dead now! They don't come back! And you killed them because they're what- Cause they're sick?" She stepped forward , truthfully forgetting that he had a gun. "Just because you're in the mob doesn't mean your life is one long cinematic where you get to kill whoever you want. What, you keep a body count?" She was actually becoming angered at this point. Her fit started out as fear, but not any more. She turned her attention to the girl now. "And you, you're just going to stand there and watch him kill those people? What's wrong with you? This is a hospital, not a prison. Those people came here because they were sick and needed help. You two are fucking monsters."
Kim's body was trembling with adrenaline from the anger-fueled bitch session. Did she really just do that? Fuck.

Dexter started to grow anxious. This whole thing was just shit show. His eyes focused on those who went off in their own directions to find something of use. A fire extinguisher was somewhat of a good use to him, but for how long. Dexter had no idea what they would be up against, then again he didn't think any one knew.
Dexter inhaled deeply, gripping Kimberly's hand tighter. He started to grow uneasy. Something didn't seem right. Just as he was about to release Kim's hand, he had felt her jump up a bit. His eyes quickly turned toward her only to notice the blonde he had helped before come up behind them. Upon hearing her speak, he noticed her weapon of choice. Shit. Someone had to have some luck out of all of them.
"Vell it's better zan vat I hafe. But I'd shtill be able to protect you if needed."
Dexter lifted his hand up quickly showing the fire extinguisher he was holding before winking toward the blonde. He then released Kimberly's hand before extending out his now free hand toward the blonde, a grin slowly appearing across his face. He was a hard core flirt, but that was just him being him. Dexter did make it quite obvious.
"I'm Dexter, by zee vay. I zon't zink you efer said vat your name vas."
Dexter kept his eyes on the blonde awaiting to hear her answer. Just before she could even speak, they were interrupted by the young male they had decided to bring along with them. Within the male's hand, he noticed he had come across some knives. Dexter let out a snicker. If he wanted to use a knife he would just use his gravity knife. Whatever it was that was causing a stir, Dexter hadn't thought about getting close nor did he want to. Kimberly, on the other hand, was quite the opposite as she reached out, taking a knife for herself.
"Kareful vith zat."
Dexter tried not to seem like he was babying her, but he he couldn't help it. He just wanted to protect her. Dexter immediately perked up as he also heard the male mention that he was also a medic as well. Seems as though he didn't seem all too useless. Dexter chose not to say anything toward him as he knew that he would just come out to be a dick head. It was bad he enough that he started to worry about Kenneth. He was even debating whether or not to actually go out and find him. Then again, if he did so, Ken would just give him shit about leaving Kimberly alone with these strangers. Especially when two of them were mobsters in some way.
Dexter looked around for a brief moment. The lights slowly flickering from bright red to darkness ever so often. His gaze had fallen upon the woman and her body guard as they headed into a room. Kimberly was the first to investigate their actions, Dexter following close behind her. He was just as curious as she was on what they were up to.
Just before entering the room, he heard Kim. Her voice in somewhat of a shocked town. He had quickly stepped foot into the room just in time to notice the suited man impaling one of the patients who were strapped to the bed. Dexter's stomach turned as the man in the suite went from bed to bed. Was this guy serious? Midway of him going from bed to bed, Dexter spoke, his tone of voice seeming shaken.
"Are you out of your got damn mind?"
Dexter didn't expect him to respond. From the corner of his eye he noticed Kimberly step forward. She didn't look at all happy. Then again, who would be after the stunt he had just pulled and the other girl did nothing but watch. It really was sickening. Dexter listened to Kimberly lash out at them, before quickly going up behind her and wrapping his arms around her in attempts to calm her down.
"Kim, calm down. Vats done is done. For now let's vorry about our surfifal."
If the people that this man had just killed were infected, he sure as hell didn't want to end up like them. Let's just hope nobody wounds up like that. Dexter quickly put the extinguisher in his free hand before unlocking his cell with his other hand. He needed to find Kenneth. He needed to make sure he was at least alright. Dexter swiftly pressed the green phone button before scrolling down towards Kenneth's name and clicking on. The phone starting to ring.
"Come on, Kenneth. Pick up zee fuckink phone"
Dexter wanted to know where the fuck he was, and to also tell him to hurry his ass up before things started to get out of hand.

There were a few things that were very clear to Jane right now. There were once armed men stationed in the lobby of the hospital. Okay, did they just open fire on everyone and then leave? Then the strange dark haired woman who started attacking people. Perfect! Where did she even come from? Also moments after, there were hundreds of people attacking and eating each other. Awesome. Finally, she was stuck in a dark hospital with a group of strangers she had only known for maybe about half an hour? She couldn't even say that she trusted everyone. Kenneth and Kim helped her out when she first arrived after the guard held a gun to her head. Then the handsome German man made sure she got through that lobby door to safety. She wasn't worried about the other young man whom she hadn't spoke with yet, but she could say for sure that she didn't trust these two mobsters carelessly waving a gun around.
Jane stared at Kim who quickly spun around to look at her hands that were tightly gripped onto the metal pole. "I mean, I guess?" She could sense a bit of annoyance in Kim's voice. She stared down at Kim's hand to see a scraper. Well, she understood why she responded the way she did. "Vell it's better zan vat I hafe. But I'd shtill be able to protect you if needed." She turned to look at the German man who raised a fire extinguisher in front of her face. Looking past his weapon she noticed him wink at her wearing a handsome grin on his face. "I'm Dexter, by zee vay. I zon't zink you efer said vat your name vas." Though she was skeptical of everyone, she certainly enjoyed this man's confidence and the offer as well. She didn't really know what to do with her weapon of choice. She just knew it was long enough to keep some distance and durable.
Jane smiled to Dexter flirtatiously as he raised his hand. She did the same grabbing his hand giving it a very gentle shake. "What's your name anyway?" She looked to Kim and was about to respond but before she could she was quickly cut off. "Hey. Either of you need a knife? There were like, four useful ones. Lots of bread knives." She turned to the young man who was upset earlier. She could barely see anything with these fucking flashing red lights coming in and out. Would they just stop already? Maybe if she got to a computer she could try and find a way to turn them off.
"Oh my god where did you find these?" Jane took a quick glance to Kim then back to the young man with all the knives. Though she didn't quite need them right this second she smiled to him and nodded in approval. They could be useful. "I'm all set thanks." She responded as the man spoke again. "I grabbed the first aid in there too, I'm a paramedic, which... hopefully doesn't, but might come in handy considering how well this going." She didn't find that statement reassuring at all but he was right saying that it would come in handy. But hopefully it wasn't that serious where they would need a medic. "Honestly though, I do believe those other two could use the knives. I would certainly feel a lot more comfortable with them not waving that gun around the entire time we're stuck in here." Jane hesitantly spoke. She didn't really feel comfortable around them regardless. They seemed to be pretty hostile, and didn't really seem to have any regard for the rest of the people in this very small group. "My name is Jane by the way." She spit it out as fast as she could to the entire group near her. She looked to everyone waiting for another introduction, but seconds later Kim and Dexter walked into a room. She quietly followed quickly looking behind her to see if the young man was following all if them. Jane entered the room gripping the metal pole tightly prepared to defend herself if need be. As the red lights appeared she noticed the man in the suit plunging a broom handle into the skull of a patient strapped to the bed. What the fuck? Was this man insane? Jane watched in shock as this man jumped from bed to bed, ending these patients lives. "I take back what I just said a couple minutes ago. I don't feel safe with these people having any type of weapon." She tightened her grip on the cold metal of her weapon. "Are you out of your got damn mind?"
"Are you fucking nuts? You just killed those people? Why? This isn't a fucking movie, those people are dead now! They don't come back! And you killed them because they're what- Cause they're sick? Just because you're in the mob doesn't mean your life is one long cinematic where you get to kill whoever you want. What, you keep a body count? And you, you're just going to stand there and watch him kill those people? What's wrong with you? This is a hospital, not a prison. Those people came here because they were sick and needed help. You two are fucking monsters."
Jane watched Dexter and Kimberly lash out on the two by the patients bedsides. Of everything that was going on in this hospital she didn't really believe this was the best way they should be spending their time, but it was appalling how this Asian woman and the man in the suit she was with didn't seem to have any care in the world for the actions they were committing. As Kim lashed out on the two and she watched Dexter pull out his phone to call someone, she heard a banging in the bedroom on the opposite side of the room they were in. Slowly walking towards the door, she looked back on the rest of the group and it was apparent they hadn't heard it. As she got closer, it wasn't just banging she heard anymore. Snarling, and scratching. Was there an animal in there? She gripped the pole tightly in her left hand as she reached out her right hand and grabbed the doorknob tightly. Her breathing was getting louder and her heart was racing as she tried to compose herself. Turning the handle of the door, it didn't take much for it to open just a crack. She put her ear up to the crevice, blocking out the sounds of the others in the room the noises were much louder and it sounded like whatever was in there, it's breathing wasn't normal. Is it...hissing too?
Jane tightened her grip on the handle, getting ready to shut the door back closed, but the door swung wide open throwing her backwards onto the ground. She struggled a bit before she stood back up on her feet, now with both hands on the pole getting into a defensive position staring at a figure in the doorway. As the red lights came back she squinted her eyes to see a woman in scrubs covered in blood. Jane screamed a lot louder than she had realized. "UMM, YOU GUYS?"

Riley Wells The curly haired man followed the people he’d met through the hallways, feeling overly on edge and paranoid. Where were all the people? People must have been back here at some point, so what happened to them? “Hey, Kim where do you think all the people wen--” his words were quiet but then cut short entirely as they saw the man ending a whole room of patients lives.
He stood there wide eyed, hearing Kim yelling, but also not. He was so fixated on the beds. All of them were restrained, their wrists and legs tethered to the beds. The only time patients were restrained like that was when they were a danger to themselves and others, either highly suicidal or highly homicidal. He had to do it often when they picked up severely mentally ill patients, and he hated it, but it was the best way to get them somewhere safe without anyone getting hurt.
His mind raced and he almost entirely couldn’t hear Kim yelling anymore, walking a bit forward to look at one of the patients more closely. A shitty tiny flashlight on his keys showing him that the flesh on the wrist of the patient closest to him. She’d fought against the cuffs so hard that flesh was starting to be cut into and sloughed off. He took a couple steps back, “No- No, No I don’t think anyone in this room was still aliv-”
Hearing the sound of the door, he turned his head to look behind himself. “Huh- Fuuuuck.”
Riley grabbed the blonde just after she screamed for them, his ears ringing a bit, pulling her back behind himself without even really thinking, “Shit.” The woman had clearly worked at the hospital, but she was drenched in blood, hissing and moving in a way that wasn’t human. She’d almost grabbed the girl before he’d pulled her out of reach. The small knife from the kitchen went into her shoulder, too easily, and instead of screaming she just tried to grab Riley’s hands.
He kicked her away in a panic, stepping back again, keeping the woman behind himself. He’d sent the woman, was she still a woman? Sure, anyway. He’d sent the woman flying back into the door, and she crumpled just for a moment. But very clearly was not going to stay down. Cracking herself into place as she seemed to recover from the blunt force. As terrifying as it was apparently it wasn’t too terrifying to not be a human shield for the light haired woman. “Hey, Killing Spree,” He looked over at the man who’d just killed the room of people, “you wana add one more to your count? We can discuss morality later, yeah? When we’re not all about to die too.” An unearthly and terribly gutteral hiss of a shriek rang through the room as the woman picked herself up off the floor and lurched toward the group, a bloodlust clear in all of her movement but no sign of real intelligence or thought.

“Hey, Killing Spree, you wanna add one more to your count? We can discuss morality later, yeah? When we’re not all about to die too.” Riley Called out to Amadeus as the undead-looking nurse staggered her way over in a fit of hissing and groans. The mobster spun on his heel, dropping his broom stick and whipping out his hand gun, but not before shooting a look of insubordination to Anna. A smug grin stretched across his face as he aimed the gun and pulled the trigger, a bullet precisely whizzing past Riley and Jane's heads and straight into the left eye socket of the nurse.
He was a good shot, that's for sure.
"Jesus Christ!" Jane yelled. "You could have fucking killed me!" Her hand stretched across her chest as she calmed herself.
"Yeah, but you're fine aren't you?" Amadeus smiled, sauntering his way past the group and stepping over the downed corpse on the floor. He studied her closely, her mouth was covered in blood, flesh stuck in between her teeth like floss. She had attacked someone, that was clear. He was on his game now.
Anna was impressed with his shot, however she couldn't let that be seen. She pushed by Jane and Riley, glaring at Kim and Dexter before grabbing Amadeus by the back of his coat.
"Nice shot. Don't disobey me again." She pushed him out of her grasp and headed past him down the hall.
"He's nuts, they both are." Dexter spat in his thick German accent. "Lets go, Kim." He grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the room and into the hall.
"Yeah, he's def nuts. But he's got good aim. He might be useful!" Riley added to Dexter's comment. It was clear everyone was a bit uneasy about the gun, mostly because they didn't have guns either. But at least SOMEONE had them covered. That is, as long as he didn't turn on them all.
The group followed Anna and Amadeus down the hall, they passed several bedrooms with closed doors and now it was clear to all of them what that meant. Something unpleasant is behind them...
As they finished their walk down the right wing of the floor unscathed they approached a large metal hut set up in the center of the second floor waiting room. The power was still on in there, it was clear to see from it's florescent glowing cracks. Amadeus signaled the group to stop behind him by waving his gun in a "halt" motion and he carefully pressed his body flush to the metal box and snuck around it's sides until he happened upon the door. There he could see a box that was clearly labeled "VACCINE". Bingo.
"Anna!" Amadeus called her over, sticking his head out the side of the metal structure.
She walked over, the rest of the group following in-toe, to see the same box that he saw. In that moment her heart skipped a beat; It was the vaccinations! They might actually get out of here alive and with what they came for.
As they all stood behind Anna and Amadeus Dexter pulled out his cell phone again and shot another text to Kenneth. We're down the hall now by a big metal room. Can't miss it. Dexter held his breath, Ken hadn't even read the last text yet.
"Use the keycard," Amadeus pointed to the lock then looked to the card sticking from her blazer pocket. She pulled out out and with one swift move stuck it into the slot.
ACCESS DENIED. printed in the small LED screen above the slot.
"Fuck." She breathed. "We need to find the right keycard." Anna held her temples for a moment, her head throbbing. When will that damned alarm shut off? She thought to herself. "We need to find the right keycard." She repeated as she spun around and faced the group. "Once we get those vaccinations we can get the fu-"
Anna was interrupted by the sound of gun fire coming from right behind her. She took a step back into the group before turning around to see Amadeus fighting off two people that looked to be dressed as nurses. They were rapid, blood spilling from their mouths and skin stuck beneath their nails. The blood looks awfully fresh... and then it occurred to Anna that it was fresh.
"Amadeus!" She screamed, lunging forward to rip nurses off his shoulders. There was blood squirting from his right jugular vein, it covered Anna's face as she ripped the gun from Amadeus' hand and pulled the trigger once and then a second time. All three bodies fell to the floor with a thud, Amadeus gasping for air as blood clearly filled his lungs.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck! Don't fucking die!" Anna was frantic, though she was doing her best to keep composed. She didn't much like Amadeus much but as he lay before her in a puddle of his own blood, obviously dying out, she felt a twinge of pain in her chest.
"D-do it." Amadeus managed out, choking on the crimson that bubbled from his lips. Anna knew what he wanted, she should have expected it from him. She'd have wanted the same. Shaking, she rose to her feet and before the group could see Amadeus in such a weak state she pulled the trigger. He was gone.
Prompt: The group is now one less, it is clear everyone needs to move quickly. There are still undead walking around freely in the halls and some other areas of the second floor. Please check the hospital map for zombie reference. The group needs to find the correct keycard to access the vaccines. Everyone should team up and head down halls to begin searching rooms for the card. It is safe to assume the keycard will be on a hospital attendant somewhere. (It's noted on the hospital map)
During your next couple posts your character should have an encounter with the undead. Whether they kill them or not is totally up to you.
As previously stated: The blue marker is where the group currently is.
Every green marker signifies an infected person.
If the marker is not in a room, they are roaming freely.
The red boxes mark the hub and the location of the keycard and vaccination key.
All of these locations are unknown to your character, should they explore they should encounter these things as if they held no prior knowledge.
